Services for Hearing Impaired
In Monmouthshire Libraries we are committed to developing our services to our hearing impaired customers.
What additional services can I expect to find in my local library?
- A small selection of subtitled and signed videos are available at Chepstow Library and may be requested from any library
- Books, videos and CD Rom on British Sign Language
- Hearing loop
Library staff recently visited the Forest Bookshop in Coleford to buy books on all aspects of deafness, including:
- Lip-reading and sign language for adults and children
- Children's storybooks
- Books on signing for the under-fives
All the above items can be found on the library catalogue using a subject search and keying in the words 'Deaf Awareness'.
