Books to Help
All families have questions or difficulties from time to time. The Child and Family Bibliotherapy scheme (Books to Help) can help you to access books that provide useful information on a wide range of issues (for example, bullying, potty training, sibling rivalry) that most families can come across.
Thirty books have been chosen by health professionals and local families. The chosen books were rated as being both helpful and easy to use. Several copies of these high quality books have been placed in all local libraries in Monmouthshire.
You can discuss the scheme with any local professional who works with children and families in your area. For example, your GP, Health Visitor, Midwife, your child's Teacher, School Health Nurse or Support Worker, will be able to tell you more about the scheme. If you think that it might be helpful for you, they will recommend a book and give you a slip which you can use to collect the book from your local library.
