About the library
Chepstow library has been open in Manor Way since November 1993. The library is purpose built and is light and spacious with tables and chairs to study or comfortable armchairs to read the excellent variety of newspapers and magazines on offer.
The children’s area has a special under 5’s section with a “magic” mat for story times and a wonderful blue train to clamber on and off. Weekly Under 5s story times are held on Friday mornings.
There is FREE IT provision for children and adults. The library is open five days a week with late nights on Tuesday and Thursday until 7pm.
The library is a focal point of the town. Story and activity sessions for youngsters are held during school holidays, and Baby Rhyme Times and Bookstart parties take place regularly.
Three reading groups use the library for their meetings, and a Young Writers Squad holds its sessions here too.
The Gwent Family History Society is in the library every 1st Thursday after the 2nd Wednesday in the month from 2pm - 4pm.
Chepstow library staff aim to make everyone feel welcome and to give a first rate service to all.
